Train to Gain
Would you like to solve your dog's behavioral problems?
Wouldn't it be wonderful to take your dog with you to picnics and other
occasions where a well trained dog is welcome? Did you know that most dogs just
want a job to do? From Yorkies to Rotties, no matter what breed or age of your
dog, he or she wants to be a loved and respected member of the family. As part
of our relationship with our pets it is important that we help our canines
become educated in the basic, such as sit, stay, heel, come and off. Training
helps your pets become more socially acceptable and equally as important
training can often save your pets life.
Train to Gain is taught by Diana Park and her phone
number is: (816) 452-6267. Diana Park has been involved with dog training for
10 years and showing in competitive obedience earning titles in both UKC and
AKC trials. Diana can help you make the most of your relationship with your
dog. Her basic training program consists of six weekly one-hour private
sessions in a climate controlled and matted area. Call Diana Park at (816)
452-6267 or e-mail her at TrainToGain@msn.com to schedule classes.
Customer Appreciation
Gentle Touch Pet Grooming is celebrating our one year
anniversary October 13, 2005. We are very excited about our first year. And we
owe it all to our customers! Because of you our business is a success! Thank
you so very much. To show our appreciation as valued customers we want to
extend an invitation for $$$ dollars off your grooming fees in the month of
January. So, January 2, 2006 through January 31, 2006 you can schedule a full
service grooming and recieve &5.00 off your normal bath costs.
This is our way to say thank you. We appreciate you and
your referrals.
Let there be Cats!
Many people think that cats don't need to visit a
groomer because "groom" themselves. This is false. Although Cats do "groom"
themselves, they dont get down to the skin. And they can't clean inside their
ears or trim their toenails. Cats should visit a groomer at the very least once
a year. several clients were surprised to find out that we do groom cats. As
with dogs, shedding in cats can be a problem. The FURminator can reduce
shedding on both long and short haired cats by 60 - 80%! This is quite a
remakable service and is 100% humane and is proven less traumatic than a full
hair cut.
Nothing replaces brushing and combing. Everyday
brushing of your cat is essential to promote healthy skin and coat. Brushing
stimulates natural oils that are present just under the skin. The result is a
sleek, shiny coat and healthy skin. If you have a long-haired breed of cat and
you bathe at home, you must comb first then brush through your cats coat both
before and after the bath. This will prevent matting. Once your cat is matted
it can only be shaved. I often "spot shave" out mats on cats as an alternative
to stripping the entire coat.
Pet groomers in general are dropping cat grooming
services more and more every year. I dont foresee that happening at Gentle
Touch. So if you know someone who wants or needs to have their cat groomed,
please let them know we do grooms CATS!
Want to save money?
Gentle Touch offers a Self-Wash service. For your
friends and neighbors who are "thinking" of having their pet(s) groomed, this
is a great way for them to get acquainted with our salon and services.
Basically, its a You Wash Puppy or Kitty. The service costs just $15.00
and is scheduled by appointment. They can wash and dry their own dog or cat.
There are no frills with this service but it is an excellent way to bond with
your pet(s) if you are a do-it-yourself pet parent.
